28year old professional lecturer at Newcastle college in my 2nd year with this institution. Throughly enjoying my job finding it very rewarding and interesting. I have always had a passion for science which comes across in my teaching that students respond to and engage with. I have a more laid back and approachable manner to teach which my students enjoy as makes them more comfortable and eager to engage with in class. I am always happy to help and aid a learner in any way to progress their learning. I am very understandable and can relate to their frustration of struggling with learning or fear of examinations. I will always strive to overcome fear of learning and ignight passion for a topic as it is easier to learn something when have a keen interest in it rather than a dislike for it. This attitude change can be achieved and I have evidenced that in my experience at Newcastle college.

Tutoring Experience

Currently teaching GCSE Biology and A Level biology on an Access to HE course at Newcastle College. In my 2nd year at this college and throughly enjoying the college and students. Had excellent feedback from learners and management and been revised by Ofsted. Up to date with DBS and currently completing my QTLS. All certificates and qualifications can be seen along with a reference from management if required.

Tutoring Approach

Throughly enjoy teaching and bringing a new and innovative approach to the subject which inspires learners. I use a range of motivational and engaging techniques and activities and can relate the subject to real life analogies which help students retain information. Many students find biology challenging and hard to remember all terminology. I challenge this with activities and interactive games to constantly review and link to other areas which helps students to understand the content and apply to other areas. I also focus on exam style questioning once sound with subject knowledge and help to explain what the question wants from them so they are answering correctly. I have all my own resources and constantly making new ways to engage all style of learners. I also have a great team at work so any issues with learning style, content queries or further educational aid I can assist with to best of my ability and help available to me. Everyone is different and all learn at different levels but my dynamic approach has proven effective. I deliver to around 100 learners and manage to reach them all individually to best aid their learning and all I want is to achieve their qualification to progress.
