I am a former Head of Science who retired in the summer of 2021 after 31 years of teaching. I have thoroughly enjoyed my teaching career and have always enjoyed highly successful relationships with students, working with them to help them fulfil their potential. I am enthusiastic about both Biology and Psychology and enjoy helping students share my passion.
I have 31 years of teaching experience in 3 different schools. I was in my most recent school for 23 years, initially as Head of Biology and then as Head of Science. I am proud of the consistent success I have had with students at GCSE and A-level (AQA). I enjoy working with students to help them succeed. I am an examiner for AQA and Pearson.
I am a very approachable, good humoured teacher. I work hard to develop relationships where students are confident to tackle all exam questions, to learn how to succeed. Every student is different and every student needs a different approach to help them make progress. Confidence in tackling exam questions comes from ensuring the knowledge is in place and then developing exam technique via a scaffolded approach. Students will receive summary PowerPoints, tasks to ensure their knowledge is secure and a range of exam questions to prepare for their exams.
