I am an experienced teacher of Psychology, Sociology and English Literature. I am an outstanding teacher and work hard to ensure that my subjects are accessible for all students. I have a BSc in Sociology from Roehampton University (2006), a PGCE from London Metropolitan University and a Masters in education. I have over 15 years teaching experience in both UK and overseas schools. I am also an examiner for IB, A level and GCSE.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching Sociology and Psychology for fifteen years at A level, GCSE and IB level as well as tutoring university level students and assisting with essays, coursework and dissertations. I have used First Tutors and tutored several individuals to enable them to achieve their goals - I really enjoy the satisfaction of working one on one with a student and watching the student grow in confidence. I work with students on a day to day basis preparing them for coursework and exams, and boosting their confidence by improving their subject knowledge and techniques. Many of my students have gone on to win places at top universities. I offer online tutoring as I believe this offers the most efficiency for us both.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in allowing a student to take responsibility for their own learning. I aim to make lessons fun and to enthuse the student with a sense of enjoying knowledge. I believe in building on the students strengths in order for the student to achieve their aim. The student is able to tell me what their expectations are and we will work together to reach their targets. Sessions are planned in collaboration with the student, some might be focused on revision, others on breaking down concepts or exam questions and techniques.
