Tutoring Experience

I have two years of teaching experience working with secondary students aged 11 to 16, delivering both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English. I currently work at a top-rated, Ofsted-rated Outstanding school known for achieving consistently high GCSE results. In this role, I have taught a range of ability groups, including bottom-set Year 11 classes, where I developed a keen understanding of how to support students working toward essential GCSE qualifications.

My teaching experience includes delivering key GCSE texts such as An Inspector Calls, Macbeth, and A Christmas Carol, with a focus on developing students’ understanding of 19th-century fiction, dramatic conventions, and Shakespearean tragedy. I guide students to explore themes such as social responsibility, power, ambition, and morality, while helping them build critical analytical skills including inference, evaluation, and essay writing.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have two years of tutoring experience, providing one-to-one and small group sessions with a strong emphasis on exam technique, targeted intervention, and confidence-building for GCSE success.
