Maths Tutoring in Lambeth

First-class degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary University of London with a 96% average grade. Five awards from the school of mathematics for outstanding academic achievement. A* Grade in A-Level Maths and Grade 9 in GCSE Maths.

You might love maths, or completely hate it - either is totally fine, and we can work together in moving towards your personal aspirations. I am a very knowledgable and experienced mathematician. As shown by my academic record, I understand what is needed to succeed in Maths exams, and can help with revision and exam technique. I'm patient, personable and easy to talk to.

Alongside tutoring, I have lots of hobbies - I play guitar in The Orchestra (For Now), recently performing to 7,000 people at Green Man Festival. I'm also a film buff, music listener and Arsenal fan.

Tutoring Experience

I tutored a GCSE Maths student for one year, helping him to boost his grades and achieve a Grade 7 in his final exams (one mark off a Grade 8). This involved working together through practice papers, breaking down areas of difficulty, and developing revision and exam techniques. We built a strong working relationship which enabled the student to gain confidence and achieve his best work.

In addition to GCSE Maths, I am also happy to teach KS3 and A Level.

I have also taught filmmaking and guitar in the past, giving me a wide breadth of experience.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is tailored to each student and their needs. Everyone has different methods which work for them, and I am keen to collaborate and find out what is best for you.

I break down maths topics into their most basic components, building slowly and making sure that everything is presented in the most clear and simple way possible. Everyone has a different pace of learning, and it's important not to rush. Whenever possible, I apply maths to the real world and link it to a student's hobbies and interests. I can approach topics from different angles to develop a thorough understanding.

I've struggled with plenty of maths problems, and still do to this day. In my experience, the best way to learn is to persevere, trying as many different approaches as possible until something clicks.
