I'm Currently at full time fully qualified mathematics teacher within Manchester. Due to this I have had lots of experience in teaching students with all levels of Mathematics ability and am a strong believer that ANYONE can do maths!

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for just under 10 years now, and have seen plenty of students go onto achieve the goals they had set themselves. Since becoming a secondary school teacher, I have gained an even deeper understanding of what it takes to really master a topic, and the tricks behind maths that helps it stick. I currently teach all year groups from KS2-KS5, and so have my hand on the pulse of current trends in education, and am able to fill national gaps caused by recent events such as the pandemic. Due to my job, I also have access to tried and tested resources which I will be able to tailor to your individual needs what ever the goal.

Aside from this, due to my physics degree, I am an A-level maths mechanics specialist. If there are any students struggling with the applied side that would like it to be broken into reasonably sized chunks, this is something I would love to help with!

Tutoring Approach

My teaching method is to carefully explain/run through as many questions as possible, stopping for revision of certain topics when problems arise. I will make sure we develop the right balance on relational and instrumental learning so that you are able to become an independent mathematical thinker.

In our first session, I will provide a baseline test covering the main topics of your relevant exam board/level (no more than 5-10 minutes). From there I will devise a plan for revision, preparing relevant questions for each session with some handwritten key notes on that topic that will be emailed through to you to keep! All work gone through during the session can also be sent through.
