Hi there, I am a hopefully considered a kind and understanding Maths and Statistics teacher. I have put two children through school and one at university.
I have completed a 70.3 Ironman so I know how to persevere when the going gets hard which is what a lot of students need to do when they struggle with mathematics. Hopefully I can make the experience a little bit more enjoyable and they can regain their joy or the subject or perhaps some pride in themselves. It all goes a long way to help a student succeed.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in the local sixth from colleges in Brighton, Worthing and more recently Haywards Heath.

I have also worked as a tutor throughout this time helping GCSE students either retakers or year round help as well as teaching the A level mathematics students and now the new A level statistics course with Pearson Edexcel.

I have been an exam marker for AQA both GCSE and A level and since my college changed to Edexcel I am now an examiner for GCSE Maths, A level Maths and A level Statistics. Being an examiner provides you with extra insight as to how the exams are marked and what is required to achieve these marks. Every school, college and student is always in need of this extra insight.

I have recently tutored two students on the WJEC A level and GCSE maths courses which have a different course content in the separate papers. An interesting course.

Tutoring Approach

I have experience in one to one tutoring for several years with great feedback and excellent success rate.
Teaching for exam boards Edexcel & AQA although I am sure I can manage to work out other boards as the subject is the same :-)
I am also an Assessment Associates Pearson Edexcel exam board.

Adult casual learning maths

I can provide one to one or group online sessions in these topics as well as one-to-one tuition at my home however preferably online tutoring.

My online tutoring is AS GOOD AS face to face tutoring as both myself and the tutee can write on a tablet with a pencil and communicate via an online meeting app. I find that being in my house online with my Wi-Fi and all my resources available with no traveling for either tutee or myself works brilliantly

Terms and conditions:

Sessions are generally term time, however I like to do revisions sessions to include half terms and I plan some summer catch up group session courses too.
Your compulsory commitment as a tutee is term time unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellations:
If you agree booking and at a later date you prefer to cancel lessons at the start, middle or end of term, these will be charged at 100% or at a reduced rate if agreed. This is because a time is blocked in my diary and is not offered to anyone else.

If for any illness or family commitment reasons you wish to cancel a lesson, a minimum 48 hours notice is required with 50% charges applied to keep the slot open. If cancellation is with in 24 hours of lesson time then 100% charges applied.

However if I cancel a lesson I will offer alternative slot where possible so learning is not missed.

Also if you wish to cancel in advance prior to the 48 hours, I might be able to offer alternative slots so none of the above 50% charge is applied.

If I cannot offer alternative time or you do not wish to take the alternative time offered then the charge is applied.
