I am a qualified Classics and French teacher - rated Outstanding by ISI in March 2020- and have worked as Head of Classics in a wide range of schools, state and independent, from KS2 to KS5. I have also been offering the highest quality tuition in French, Latin, Ancient Greek and Classical Civilisation since completing my MA in Classics at UCL(2015).
I am adept at preparing students intensively for School Entrance, Scholarship, GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level exams. Many of my students have been offered places at the most competitive independent schools such as Westminster, Eton and St.Paul's and have achieved an impressive number of 8/9 and A/A* grades in their exams.
I am very familiar with the Challenge ( Entry Scholarship Exam for Westminster School) and King's Scholarship Exam (Eton). Six of my tutees have been awarded the Queen's and King's Scholarships. (2022, 2021, 2020, 2017, 2016 and 2015).
I have tutored all ages; from year 6 up to undergraduates. However, the majority of my students are year 8 students sitting Scholarship Exams and GCSE students. I have tutored quite a few Westminster and St. Paul's pupils and I am very familiar with their scholarship exams, and overall the entry requirements and standards of both schools.
In the first session, I spend the first 10 minutes building a rapport with the student. Next, I try to assess student strengths and areas in need of improvement. I then recommend a customised learning plan that addresses my students needs and targets as well as their weaknesses so that they achieve their full potential. The ultimate goal is to foster a learning environment where students build their confidence in their abilities and become self-motivated learners. I also endeavour to make my lessons as interactive and stimulating as possible by integrating multimedia and innovative educational technology (i.e. Google Drive, Google Calendar, iPad, Scribblar, etc).
