Online Maths and Physics Lessons

Hi! My name is Ollie and I am a first-year PhD student at the University of Oxford researching into Astronomy mixed with Engineering. I am British but grew up in Singapore, where I attended a British international school. I earned both my undergraduate and master's degrees at the University of Oxford!

Tutoring Experience

I have 5 years and over 500 hours of tutoring experience. Throughout this, I have helped students with maths, all sciences and university admissions, teaching an age range of 9-21 year-olds. Last year, I got 3 students into Oxbridge and many others into their top-choice universities throughout the UK and the USA. I love teaching and inspiring students through fun and interactive lessons!

Tutoring Approach

One of the core principles for my teaching is that these lessons are for the students to get the most out of it as possible. I make use of collaborative whiteboards so that the students and I can interact and share our ideas and solutions to questions in real time with each other. I tend to spend the first 30-40 minutes of each lesson covering the core content for the part of the course we are studying, making sure to show the student the key steps and marking points that the examiners are looking for so that the student is getting used to exam style questions. Towards the end of the lesson, the student and I will spend 20 minutes having a look through a range of past paper questions specific to what we have just covered to give them exposure to the style of questions the exams usually ask!
