I am an Oxford-educated tutor (2:1 in Chemistry), with over 10 years of professional tutoring experience. Over the past decade, I have taught nearly 200 students in more than 5,000 hours of one-to-one tuition, helping them achieve outstanding academic results and significantly increased confidence. Whether it’s unlocking an A*‑level proof, mastering complex Chemistry calculations, or preparing Oxbridge personal statements and interviews, my students consistently achieve grade improvements of 2–3 boundaries and secure places at highly competitive universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, St Andrews, and Exeter.
I specialise in Maths and Chemistry at 13+, GCSE, A-Level, and IB Diploma Programme, as well as university applications (particularly for Oxford and Cambridge). I also support coursework writing and exam technique development. My students regularly see significant progress, not only in their grades but also in their confidence and ability to approach challenging material independently.
Many of my students arrive struggling with confidence, specific gaps in knowledge, or both. I work patiently to rebuild their foundation, identifying areas of strength while carefully addressing weaker topics. For students who are over-confident but lack depth, I gently challenge them through carefully targeted questioning, helping them recognise gaps and deepen their understanding. For students who are struggling with low confidence, I ensure to build their confidence by pointing out proof of ability wherever possible, while keeping an eye on areas which still need improvement. In both cases, students leave with stronger subject mastery and genuinely well-founded confidence.
In sessions, I focus on guiding students towards finding solutions themselves, providing support and encouragement along the way. This method develops a deeper understanding of the subject, as well as fostering easier long-term retention of information, and transferable problem-solving skills essential for exams.
I am highly adaptive in my teaching, using a variety of explanations, analogies, and learning techniques tailored to each individual student. As I get to know how each student learns best, sessions become increasingly effective and personalised. Above all, I strive to make lessons engaging, supportive, and enjoyable, fostering both academic success and a lasting enjoyment of the subject.
