I am a recent 1st Class graduate from the University of Manchester. I studied for a Meng degree in Civil Engineering with A levels in maths, physics, and chemistry. Currently, I am working as a Civil Engineer

My passion for tutoring comes from my early A-level days studying the aforementioned subjects. To fully grasp the concepts, I too required a tutor. The experience with my tutor greatly aided my learning and inspired me to help others as I was helped. This desire manifested in taking up leadership roles at University as well as becoming a DebateMate Mentor in my final year.

I believe that the understanding of a concept/topic is at its highest level when it can be taught to someone else. As a tutor, it is my goal and aims to get my students to this level

Tutoring Experience

For about 7 months I worked as a mentor at Debate-Mate, a charity that relies on the help of bright university students to run after-school debate clubs all around the world. These clubs aim to teach and equip young kids with the necessary tools for effective debating and communication. The clubs also welcomed kids with behavioral management problems to include them in activities and ultimately lead to the development of exemplary behavior from those students.

I was a secondary school mentor during my time with the company and had the pleasure of mentoring both children who signed up and those who were made to attend the clubs. It was a wonderful experience teaching them the skills necessary for debate. My students won several prizes in competitions featuring a range of schools from the same year group.

I have also tutored several GCSE students in maths, chemistry, and physics, helping increase their confidence in these topics and helping them attain their goals.

Tutoring Approach

An innovative and driven tutor who believes in visual as well as audio learning.

Lessons will be highly interactive with games and videos tailored to break down fundamental principles to aid learning and understanding.

Lessons range from 1-2 hours and are targeted to Gsce and A-level students.
