September 2024 update
An amazing set of results from my IB tutees and A Level tutees (some going to LSE and other great Universities and achieving the grades they needed, but importantly some great added value) so a big well done to them. A very busy 2024-2025 and I am almost fully booked from September 2024 until the May 2025 exams for most evenings! But please do enquire asap if you want to check if I have any more slots available. As I can also offer more flexibility in the holidays ****
My tutees achieved 90% A*-B for A level Economics and IB Economics average of 6.5 for 2024, which represents all tutees acheiving target or above target grades! (one from D to an A, and 2 going on to study at Cambridge and LSE).
**** February 2024 update - Unfortunately I am almost fully booked now until the May/June exams.
If you are Year 13 - Please only contact me if you are studying the AQA or IB Economics course.
I am still taking on Year 12 students so please feel free to get in touch if you are Year 12 student, of any specification, and I will see if I can fit you in) ****
I have been a passionate Economist since choosing to take the subject in Sixth Form and continuing into studying straight Economics at University.
After working for 2 years in Financial recruitment, I decided to pursue my passion for Economics through teaching.
Completing my post graduate teaching degree, specialising in Economics, I have been working in a leading UK boarding school teaching solely Economics IB and A level to over 120 students each year. I have also been a private tutor for over 6 years, purely through word of mouth, before deciding to register more recently (2020) on a few websites as I was told there was a lack of quality tutors out there.
I thoroughly enjoy instilling a love of Economics in all the students and tutees that I work with, which has been a recognised quality that has seen me promoted to Head of IB economics (in a department of 8 Economics teachers) within a few years.
I am a huge fan of teaching by finding what students and tutees love about their own life experiences. Whether they love sport, shopping, gaming, reading, outdoors or countless other examples - I make it my aim to create a similar feeling towards their study of Economics.
I believe that students struggle not because they do not know, but because they have not yet been shown how to love a particular subject.
I have countless testimonials and just one session would hopefully show any tutee (and parents) that my main goal is to support young Economists in their journey to achieving the grade that they are capable of.
