I am a University of Edinburgh graduate with over 11 years of experience teaching internationally in the primary education sector. I pride myself on having strong relationships with my students and have an excellent reputation with the families I work with currently and in the past for this. I am currently teaching Year 5 in an International school on the Algarve in Portugal.
I have taught around the world including the UK, Australia, Cyprus, Prague and most recently Portugal. I am experienced teaching a range of curriculums including the Curriculum for Excellence, English national curriculum and Cambridge curriculum.
Building strong relationships is at the heart of my teaching. I connect with children on a personal level, ensuring their interests are woven into the learning process so that lessons feel meaningful and purposeful. By relating to each child individually, I create a supportive and engaging environment where they feel confident to grow.
As a passionate nature enthusiast, I love incorporating real-world experiences and discussions about the natural world into my teaching. Whether through storytelling, practical examples, or interactive activities, I aim to make learning relevant and inspiring. My goal is to help children develop not just their academic skills but also a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
