I am a highly-qualified and experienced tutor, with a strong track record of helping students at all levels to succeed. Whatever your situation, I will do my best to help you meet your particular learning needs.

Tutoring Experience

I completed my ICAEW qualification as part of my accountancy training at KPMG, and spent 12 years as a professional economist at the Bank of England. While at the Bank I was one of the judges for the Target Two Point Zero Schools Challenge, which kept me closely in touch with students working towards their Economics and Business A levels.

Other relevant work experience includes preparation of study materials for accounting and economics at Kaplan Financial.

Most of my experience has been in person, but for the past couple of years I have offered other forms of support such as phone calls and email exchanges, and more recently online meetings. Students often use a mix of different methods.

I also provide a review/feedback service, where I can provide comments and feedback on written work. As well as my technical background, I also have a qualification in English Language teaching so can provide writing guidance. Several students have found this helpful for their writing assignments, essays and dissertations.

I am also a student myself! I am currently in the final stages of an MSc in Accounting and Finance at CASS Business School in London.

I work with all levels of students, some who are aiming for top grades and others who just want to make sure that they do the best that they can. I don't use a one size fits all approach", but adapt my tutoring to suit each individual student.
I can help you to build up and extend your knowledge and understanding, boost your confidence and prepare effectively for your exams.
I believe that the success of personal tutoring relies heavily on tutor-tutee rapport, so it is important for me to achieve a positive relationship with my students. I have a helpful, supportive approach and aim to be personable but professional at all times.
