Bonjour! I'm Pelumi, a Londoner with a love for all things French. I spent a year living in Rouen during my studies. My background is in Law with French, so I understand the challenges and rewards of learning a new language.

Tutoring Experience

My passion for French goes beyond the classroom! I studied French for over 10 years, incorporating it into my Law with French degree and living in Normandy for a year. I even use French in my day job, account managing French clients.

I worked as an English teacher in a French primary school and as a part-time tutor. It was an amazing experience, and I loved seeing my students' confidence grow as they mastered new skills! I collaborated closely with colleagues to design engaging lessons covering speaking, listening, writing, and reading I also created fun and effective learning materials like games, flashcards, and worksheets to keep things interesting. My supervisor recognised my passion for teaching and raised my rapport with students, my initiative and my organisational skills.

This firsthand experience allows me to understand the nuances of both languages and create a unique learning experience for you. I believe learning should be enjoyable, and I strive to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons are all about communication! We'll focus on speaking and listening from day one, using French as our primary language in class. This immersion approach is a proven way to improve fluency and confidence.

I love incorporating different mediums to keep things fun and engaging. Expect to use flashcards, sing songs (dependent on age), and even play games to learn new vocabulary and grammar points.

I also have a curriculum that covers a variety of subjects, each with its own set of vocabulary and grammar. But don't worry, if you have a specific topic you'd like to focus on, just let me know! I'm flexible and happy to tailor lessons to your needs.
