I am an enthusiastic retired teacher who thoroughly enjoys helping students achieve their potential in A Level Maths and Further Maths. I have a First Class Honours degree in Maths together with a PGCE in Secondary Maths Teaching. I have developed good working relationships with over 50 students and have received many positive comments about my teaching style. I can provide online tutoring using Skype or Zoom which works extremely well.

Tutoring Experience

I have 9 years experience of teaching A Level Maths in a Further Education College and 7 years of private tutoring.

Tutoring Approach

Initially, I discuss with a student what his or her weak points are. I will then carefully explain the key points of each topic and often finish with an exam question. I will ensure that the student participates in the session as it is only by student involvement that I can judge whether the student has made progress. I can provide online tutoring using Zoom which works extremely well. By sharing my screen the student is able to see my working and able to ask questions and seek guidance on areas where understanding needs refining.
