I have been a Maths teacher for over 20 years after graduating from Warwick University. I am an examiner for GCSE which ensures I am very clear on what exam questions require you to show. I like to travel, play chess and love cycling.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught all year groups from 11-year-olds to 18. I have taught and tutored Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate.

Tutoring Approach

As a classroom teacher I have always engaged pupils by helping them understand the 'why?' as well as the 'how?'. During tutoring sessions, this is even easier as I can tailor the learning for you specifically. This ensures you not only know how to do the maths, but also understand the concepts which mean you learn to apply what you know to any question. During my career I have helped many students achieve top grades and my methods are to help you learn to break down complicated tasks that can be completed efficiently and accurately. In this way, maths no longer appears complicated and scary. That moment when a student gets something they previously could not, never gets old!
