A former Head of Maths, based in Enfield, I retired from teaching in 2018, with a view to taking on more tutoring of students in the Enfield, Barnet and surrounding areas. I'm a young 60 year old, still enthusiastic about his subject and with a love of learning. I currently live with my wife in France. While here I offer online tuition only.

Tutoring Experience

Over a 20 year career, I've taught secondary school maths at all Key Stages and to students at all levels of attainment. At A level, I've taught all Core/Pure units as well as Statistics, Mechanics and Further Maths. I've devised and managed a number of booster courses at GCSE level over the years.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that good tutoring will give a student knowledge and confidence. I enable my tutees to think independently and I require them to do some independent work in between sessions.

I am friendly, positive and encouraging - I enjoy the sessions and do my best to make sure that the student does also.
