Hello!
I am currently working as a Clinical Fellow in a Paediatric ED in London, having completed my 2 years Academic Foundation Training (Med Ed.) in Sheffield in August 2022. I have a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from King's College London and have completed a PGCert in Medical Education.
I first started teaching while revising for my university finals in 2015, running sessions and quizes for my peers. I really enjoyed this and so throughout my 5 years at medical school I was actively involved in teaching across small groups, practical and lecture based settings. I also wrote and co-ordinated a number of mock exams, papers and questions, so I have a lot of practice questions and resources to draw on.
As an AFP in medical education, I have received formal training in teaching through the PGCERT I completed, and have been involved in undergraduate and peer teaching over the past 3 years. During my final F2 rotation, I taught undergraduates on the 5 and 4 year medical degrees at the University of Sheffield, covering basic sciences and practical, clinical skills, exams and history taking.
I also have experience of the medical admissions process, having been part of interview stations previously. I am more than happy to offer practice interviews and advice, and can also support your UKCAT preparation.
I have a relaxed approach, and am happy to be led by my students, encouraging them to set their own learning objectives to get the most out of the session. I can teach in a more lecture based style, or am happy to set questions (SAQ or SBA) and work through the answers. I am also more than happy to run OSCE style scenario sessions.
Ultimately, tell me what YOU want to get out of a session and we can go from there.
