Hi! I'm Phil, and I offer bespoke piano tuition covering the greater Peterborough area. I have been playing the piano for over 20 years and hold a 1st class performance degree from Chichester University. I now pass on my passion for playing to anyone who wants to learn how to communicate without words through music, or just simply play their favourite pop song, hymn, or a large scale classical work.

I teach all ages from 6 to 86! Whether you're a complete beginner, someone who's picking up a long lost hobby, or someone more serious who's after a fresh perspective on their playing, I will cater for your piano playing needs.

Tutoring Experience

Part time tutor during university studies from 2011-2015.

Self employed piano tutor working 3 days a week covering the Southampton and Portsmouth area from 2015-2017. I taught private, 1-1 piano tuition, as well as keyboard in a local primary school.

Tutoring Approach

Learning to play the notes is one thing, learning to play music is something entirely different. My aim is not only to make you technically proficient at playing piano, but to make what you play beautiful to you and your audience, and to do that in a way that is fun, engaging, and exciting.

I will initially assess where you are in your ability and hear what your goals are (they may be pieces, exams, concerts, etc.) Following this we will begin to explore not only how to reach them but surpass them. Using my own knowledge and experience of playing piano I will teach you to practice well and to perform brilliantly, whatever the setting. There is no penalty for playing wrong notes!
