Phoebe

Hello, my name is Phoebe and I have been a teacher for 13 years. I am an enthusiastic, relaxed, organised teacher who has the ability to lead students to successes. I now wish to be able to help students on their invididual journeys throughout a time that can be stressful and difficult.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a teacher for 13 years and have experience teaching various ages, from 11 to 18. I have a wealth of GCSE experience and can also teach AS-Level Pure Mathematics. Throughout my years of teaching, I have also taught a wide variety of mixed abilities and have taught the lowest groups up to the highest for GCSEs. I have enabled 6 students to move from a C grade to an A grade in just 5 months. Last all of my year 11 students gained either a grade 5 or grade 4; only three students in the class gained a grade 4. I also tutored two students, one progressing from a grade 2 to a high grade 4, the other gained a grade 7. I have also tutored a girl since she was in year 9 all the way through to GCSE who then received a grade 7. I also currently teach at an outstanding school. My class this year are a higher group and are on track to achieve grade 6+.

Tutoring Approach

My initial approach will be to find students strengths and weaknesses via an exam. I will be able to then use these exams to see which topics students need to be taught. I can use personalised learning tools which will help students whilst they are with me and when they are revising independently.

My approach to tutoring will then have a focus on: essential exam questions; focusing on techniques of how to break down questions carefully; worded questions; problem solving.
