I am a highly motivated, reliable, friendly and professional tutor. I am currently employed as a Lecturer of Psychology and Sociology at an Independent College.
I am passionate about my subjects and enjoy working with young people and passing on this passion to them as well as motivating them to reach their potential.
I have the ability to explain and break down complex terminology, theories and concepts to my students thereby increasing their confidence and making their workload more manageable.
Beyond increаsed cоnfidence аnd deeper understаnding аcrоss subjects, my students repоrt their A Level mаrks have surpаssed their schооls’ predictions.
I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring the AQA, OCR and Edexcel specifications for Sociology and Psychology. I have an excellent track record - students usually achieve at least two grades higher than their predicted grades.
I have also taught private students both subjects at A level on a one-to-one and small group basis.
My approach is extremely student-centred focusing on each each student's specific requirements. I use a two-way interactive approach with a focus on problem areas and difficulties that the student may need to work through. I use a variety of teaching techniques such as discussions, white board and powerpoint slides.
My tutoring sessions are set out to build upon students' existing knowledge and developing this further.
Regular, constructive feedback on student's progress is always provided so that specific skills and techniques can be worked on to reach target grades.
I believe that in order to achieve success, students benefit from learning how to write excellent essays, working through past exam papers and plenty of practice answering exam questions.
