Hello, I’m Rahat, an experienced A-level Chemistry tutor and a current medical student at Imperial College London.
I achieved 3 A*s in Chemistry, Biology, and Maths at A-level, and I have been tutoring A-level Chemistry for the past year. My students often describe me as a friendly, approachable tutor who creates a positive, student-focused learning environment.
I am DBS Certified.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a tutor for 3 years now. Over the last year, I have tutored 15 A-level Chemistry students (both Year 12 and Year 13) through a tutoring centre. This has allowed me to tutor a range of students with different learning styles, further solidifying my knowledge of the A-level Chemistry curriculum and refining my teaching skills. Before this, I tutored GCSE Maths and Sciences for 2 years, which provided me with a strong foundation for my tutoring skills.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching is student-led and tailored to individual needs. I always start by consulting my students, asking them to identify the topics that they currently struggle with or are insecure about. Tutoring also provides a great opportunity to review content covered in class, which you may have struggled with. Having this 1-to-1 time can significantly boost your confidence and knowledge of the topic and make you exam-ready.
Before each session, I prepare targeted resources for the student based on the topics which they find difficult and would find beneficial to focus on. We begin each session by reviewing the topic to fill any gaps in their knowledge, followed by working through exam questions to solidify their understanding of the topic. I have found that guided practice with exam questions is the most effective way to boost confidence and raise grades. Many of my students have made significant progress using this structured, results-driven approach.
