I am a qualified and experienced teacher with 26 years in Primary Education, currently teaching a Year 4 class in Hillingdon. My experience spans Early Years, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, allowing me to support students at various stages of their learning journey.

Tutoring Experience

Throughout my career, I have taught in a range of year groups from Early Years to Year 6 and held senior management and leadership positions in the past, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. I have played a significant role in preparing children for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SATs, the Year 4 Multiplication Test, and the Year 1 Phonics Test. My entire career has been based in the London Borough of Hillingdon, where I have not only managed my own classes but also worked as a cover teacher across various schools, gaining experience in different boroughs. This has allowed me to work with a diverse range of children from multicultural backgrounds, adapting to various teaching styles and ensuring a thorough understanding of the curriculum.

As a tutor, I am committed not only to addressing the gaps in your child's education but also to nurturing their personal growth. I begin by assessing your child's current level, discussing with you where you believe they are academically, and talking with your child about their strengths and areas for improvement. With this understanding, I tailor the tutoring sessions to meet your child's individual needs and set both short-term and long-term goals that are achievable.

If your child is advanced, I ensure they are challenged and stretched by applying their knowledge to reasoning, problem-solving, and deeper learning. For those needing additional support, I focus on filling gaps to help them progress confidently. I use a range of engaging and interactive methods tailored to your child’s preferred learning style to keep them motivated and involved.

Regular feedback is provided to both the child and parents, and I track progress to adjust the tutoring approach as needed. I also help develop independent learning skills by teaching effective strategies and techniques. My approach prioritises creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment, as I believe that confidence is crucial for success and growth.

I am able to teach all the Primary Education subjects e.g Reading, Maths and Writing.
