Online Tuition for Maths and Physics

Hi,

I have just completed my higher education at the University of Bath (Undergraduate Masters in Civil Engineering with First-class Honours). I am now interested in helping others, whether this be to help them build the fundamentals in a subject they currently dislike or are weak in or, to further enhance their knowledge in one of their strongest subjects. As mathematics and physics have always been my strongest two subjects throughout my academics I am confident that the depth of knowledge I have in these subjects will be beneficial to anyone wanting to strengthen and boost their understanding, and therefore grades.

Tutoring Experience

I currently do not have any formally recorded student time as I have never been on a tutoring platform. However, during my time in IGCSE, IB, and University I found myself helping others in understanding various concepts in these two subjects. Therefore, I would like to continue helping others improve on their knowledge in these subject areas.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that the tutoring approach will be very much dependent on the needs of each student as well as the timeframe they have in learning specific concepts before a significant date such as an exam.

I would go through the various mathematical concepts which the student may be struggling with to build their confidence and then would reinforce their understanding with worked examples which would be done together. The final test to see whether they have mastered the concept is to then work on some specific past paper questions. This will give them confidence in these concepts so when the time comes to taking the exam, they will be able to calmly deconstruct the question and answer it methodically.

When approaching exam season, the lessons will become more influenced by past paper exams, testing them on the entire syllabus to identify any weak areas which need to be revisited once more prior to the exam.
