Unfortunately the tutor was no longer available after the lockdown to commence lessons as anticipated and now only offers online tuition. Therefore I am unable to leave feedback one way or the other.
Hi Barbara,
Apologies again that we were unable to have face-to-face lessons; I was hoping to be able to begin teaching lessons again in a classroom setting (even with a baby) after lockdown ended, but it just hasn’t proved a viable option I’m afraid.
I understand that your daughter decided that she didn’t want to have lessons online, but I hope you are able to find a suitable tutor for her in the future.
Kind regards,
Rebecca

Rebecca is very kind, patient and helpful. I have not long started my lessons and I am enjoying them very much. I would highly recommend Rebecca as a Japanese tutor.

Rebecca helped me and my husband learn the basics in Japanese to feel more confident on our recent holiday. She is friendly, approachable, and super patient, and did a really good job of teaching the two of us at the same time. She didn't just teach us random set phrases, but built up a lot of useful sentence structures and introduced us to useful grammar to allow us a bit more freedom in making our own sentences up. She was always on time and provided really useful, tailored teaching materials. I couldn't recommend her more! Arigato gozaimasu, Rebecca-sensei!
From Elizabeth
Rebecca is very easy to talk to and always makes the lessons fun. She has little games that help with practicing the language. Initially she took care to ask me why I was learning Japanese and what I wanted from the lessons and has obviously taken care to tailor lessons to that. She was also happy to recommend anime and tv programmes that I might find interesting to improve my knowledge of Japanese culture, as well as the language. I would highly recommend her as a tutor.

Whilst being interested in Japanese culture and the language itself for many years, I never really took the step to learning it properly. I decided to take the plunge and get myself somebody near to me that could teach me everything I needed to know and that, is how I found Rebecca.
3 weeks into my learning and I personally feel that my spoken Japanese has come on far further than I could and I am enjoying learning how to write Hiragana also, and this is due largely to Rebecca's teaching style. Professional, patient and fun are just three words that I can use here to describe the lessons.
The first lesson we spent a bit of time talking, and Rebecca showed a sincere and keen interest to understand what it was that I was hoping to achieve from the lessons, and once that was done, we got stuck right in.
The lessons progress in a way that you start with the bare essentials (counting/greeting/introductions) and then move on to more practical instances where you are then able to string sentences together.
For anybody wanting to learn Japanese and is in the area, I could not recommend Rebecca enough. It is in now way, shape or form like "being back at school". Her teaching style is warm and friendly and I for one always walk away each week knowing something new.
My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.

The tutor that I found on here is very nice, helpful and very patient and is legitimately happy to answer my questions and is very keen on giving extra tips and tricks to help you learn. 5/5, I'm very happy :)
