I am based in West Hampstead and have 10 years of teaching experience. I graduated from University College London (UCL) with a degree in Classics in 2013 before training for an English PCGE in a variety of schools in London. I am currently an Assistant Head and Head of Sixth Form in a busy non-selective state secondary school in North London. I have extensive experience of teaching English Language, English Literature and Latin.
My primary focus is ensuring that students make excellent progress in a supportive and focused environment so that they can both their very best and enjoy the process of learning.

I love my job and am committed to helping children make progress. I love to celebrate their success with them when they overcome their learning barriers. My students have achieved consistency good results.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored pupils in English Language, English Literature and Latin for 11+, 13+, GCSE and A Level for 10 years. Given my full-time job, I also have extensive experience of teaching English Language and Literature to GCSE and A Level students. I have taught the Eduqas syllabus for Latin GCSE, AQA syllabus for English GCSE and OCR and Edexcel syllabi for English Literature A Level. I have also mentored students in preparing for university applications and would be willing to offer support for drafting personal statements.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is flexible and tailored to the individual I am working with. I aim to foster a love of learning in my students, but understand that this must come with a embedding a culture of high expectations, rigour and focus in my lessons.
I like to challenge my students and to help them to build their understanding of topics and texts through testing them. I help them to improve their reading and writing my using model answers and I am dedicated to correcting their mistakes to help them build their understanding and confidence. I aim to make all of my lessons focused, engaging and energetic to ensure that my students learning in an environment that that they enjoy.
