Rebecca

I am a qualified maths teacher and am very aware of all the struggles facing children today within maths lessons. I have up to date training on all the latest techniques and stratagies to help children get to grips with all kinds of maths. I strongly beleive that maths should be fun! My results this year have seen 98% of students meet or exceed their target grades. I have tutored my own little brothers, friends and am hoping to help more children find something in the subject that they can enjoy!

Tutoring Experience

I have had a terms experience in a local secondary school, teaching girls between the ages of 11 and 16 and 2 terms experience at a challenging mixed comprehensive. I have taught at seceral mixed school for the last 16 years and I have spent some time tutoring primary ages children privately. I have up to date training and feel I can help children who are finding the subject difficult as I have only recently found the different ways in which they can find it difficult and feel I can relate to them. In addition to teaching maths I have taught Psychology at A level 2 years.

Tutoring Approach

I strongly beleive that maths should be fun. I do not beleive it is of any use to a child who does not understand something to be told the same thing over and over again. It is the job of a teacher to find different ways to convey the information that suits the individual child.
Psychology is a facinating subject, but so often the science aspect of it is not approached and exam questions are poorly answered as a result. I beleive that Psychology can be interetsing but it is vital that at A level, students are able to argue effectively. It is my wish to aid students with this skill
