I am a PhD candidate at the University of Leeds. Mine is a very interdisciplinary project investigating how contemporary Thai Facebook use is (re)shaping Thai nationalist discourse. I will submit my thesis in December 2022, and I previously received a 'Distinction' grade for my MA by Research thesis, which similarly focused on Facebook. Having studied Thai for over a decade, I am now focusing on learning a new language: Turkish.
At university level: I taught an undergraduate Thai-language module in the 2018/19 academic year and will teach a 'Semiotics' module during the first semester of the upcoming 2021/22 academic year. (Both modules at the University of Leeds.)
At GCSE/A-Level level: I worked as a Learning Support Assistant for Special Education Needs students at a London secondary school in 2015. This job allowed me to help students from all year groups across all subjects develop their understanding of the curriculum and prepare for exams.
ESL: I have tutored English online to students preparing for their IELTS exams.
I prefer tuition that is flexible, conversational, and friendly. I love to ask questions just as much as I love to answer them. Critical thinking has naturally been an integral part of my academic career, and I enjoy sharing ideas and approaches for reading texts - and the world - with a critically honed eye. I particularly love to help people extend this critical mindset to the domain of media and communication.
