Equal opportunity and creating social mobility is the main essence as to why I am a teacher; agreeing with Nelson Mandela, I believe that education is key in allowing children to create opportunities and to succeed in whatever they do. Music, Singing and Drama has always been a passion of mine, from joining the choir in primary school, receiving my singing grades and performing in competitions in secondary school till being an adult today; which is why I try to incorporate the performing arts into as much of my lessons as a primary school teacher as possible. I believe that music is a fantastic stimulus for the children to have and can be used as such an effective learning tool. Working with the young people allows me to inspire, lead and challenge and make a difference to my community. I want to help change the perception of the youth today and give them opportunities to further and better themselves. Not only am I able to challenge and push them, every encounter is unique and comes with its own trials, which pushes and challenges me; this allows me to be flexible, have a range of communication and listening skills and have experience. I truly want to inspire children and young people; I want to show that education is the key to opening unbelievable opportunities and my job is to help make education inspiring and accessible for all.

• 6 years teaching in UK’s school
• 3 years as Religious Education lead
• 1 year as SEN teaching assistant
• 3 summers working for NCS, a national adolescent charity

Tutoring Approach

I like to keep all learning fun and engaging. I show the children how it’s important and how it can be used in real life to give what they’re learning some purpose. From my experience, children work better when their learning had a purpose. My goal is to make a child an independent and that’s by explaining to them in engaging ways how to grasp that learning concept or objective.
