I'm a recent Mathematics graduate, with a really strong maths background throughout my academic life.
My experience is teaching ranges from private one-on-one tutoring in A-Level and Scottish Higher National Maths to informal teaching, which I've done most of my student life, helping fellow students and friends. My previous tutees have had a lot of success in one having improved 2 grades in her A-Level Maths, now studying Economics at Oxford University and the other having seen a huge 50% increase in her exam scores in the short time we've began working together.
I approach teaching as a discussion, where I want the students to speak and explain their thinking. We go through topics and lessons together, where they can speak, ask and explain as much as they need. I often ask students to tell me what they think their weaknesses and strengths are, where they might be struggling. Often students don't think about or vocalize these things and it can have hugely positive effects once they do.
