In my spare time I am secretary/captain of Market Harborough Chess Club. I play at various congresses around the UK. I enjoy walking my two dogs, Walter and Eric.
Since 2015, I have been director of Consumer King, a public relations business. I have also worked as a national newspaper journalist - the highlight being an interview with Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
I am highly experienced in tutoring for GCSE and A Level across two of England’s main exam boards: AQA and OCR while I have also worked with students who have sat papers for Edexcel.
Previous agencies I have worked for include Top Tutors in Finchley, North London and The Home Tutor in Barnet, North London (2009 – 2010). I have worked freelance as a tutor from 2018-2020.
My students are taught to write both accurately and engagingly, no matter the subject. This is a transferable skill yielding rewards on and off the exam paper. My tutoring style is always tailored to the needs of the student with some finding greater benefit in the classic Explanation Method, while others prefer a more collaborative approach where typically, the student offers a proposition before it is discussed.
I adhere to the curriculum for all subjects offered am able to clearly explain what is required in answering both an essay and exam question.
