Private Online Maths Tuition

I have been teaching for 12 years and I love what I do! I started my teaching career as a classroom teacher and have challenged myself as a Head of A-level Maths, Head of Department, Deputy Head Teacher and now I currently work as a Lead Practitioner of Maths where I have the opportunity to work with teachers and help develop their teaching skills. I am able to teach maths to students of all abilities from Years 7 to 11. I am also able (and have a strong track record of) teaching students in Year 12 and 13, where I can teach Pure Maths, Mechanics and Statistics.

Tutoring Experience

Over the last 12 years I have held the following positions:
- Classroom teacher of Maths
- Head of A-Level Maths
- Deputy Head of Maths
- Head of Faculty for Maths (in 2 separate schools)
- Deputy Head Teacher
The position I hold now is a Lead Practitioner for Maths. Out of every role I have held, this is my favourite. This role has given me the opportunity to refine my teaching practice (and resources) to help my students improve and succeed in Maths. It has also given me the opportunity to share and show case best practice with other teachers both in my department and outside of it.

Tutoring Approach

Most students struggle in Maths because their classroom teacher isn't a subject specialist, don't allow the students to ask questions when stuck or do not have bespoke resources prepared to help support the child. This in turn, prevents the child's confidence from growing which leads to the child disliking or struggling in Maths.
Half the battle most students have in Maths is having the confidence to attempt the question and the other half is fully understanding the steps which need to be carried out to complete questions.
My approach is simple. Boost the confidence of your child (allowing them to ask as many questions as they feel they need to), lots of practise and when enough confidence has been gained, my role will then be to stretch your child to help them at the very least meet and/or exceed their target grade.
I take my tutoring as seriously as I do my classroom teaching so, if you want someone that will help your child succeed and hopefully see how easy Maths actually is, then I am the tutor for you!
