I am a friendly and approachable tutor who enjoys teaching pupils of all abilities.
I specialise in tutoring Maths, Physics, Computing (including Python, Java, C Programming) and ICT (especially Word, Excel, PowePoint, Access, PowerPoint, etc). I also can help with Geography, Chemistry(to GCSE), study skills, exam technique, etc.
My availability:

Thursday: 10:00-19:00
Sunday: 13:00-20:00 (not every week)
I will be available on some Saturdays in May and June.
My preference is for the pupil to come to me Bannerbrook Park, Tile Hill, Coventry) - I offer a discount for this, reflecting the saved time and travel costs.
I am a qualified teacher, with nearly ten years of successfully teaching and/or tutoring pupils to help them gain confidence in their abilities, raise their grades and enable them to fulfil their potential.
My qualifications:
PGCE in Secondary Mathematics (2011)
Open University Undrgraduate Certificate in Mathematics (2009)
BSc (Hons) Geography and Environmental Studies (2:1, 1998)
Higher National Certificate in Mathematics, Statistics & Computing (1990).
Prior to retraining as a teacher, I worked for over 25 years in ICT & Computing roles developing skills in system administration (Windows & Unix including scripting), programming (C, C++, Java, Python, BASIC, FORTRAN), software analysis and design, change, test, release and service management, IT systems strategy, technical architecture, technical authoring, staff management, training, etc.
I have helped run Geography field trips for Carshalton Boys Sports College and Wallington County Grammar School.
I have taught Mathematics at The Beacon School in Banstead, Surrey; The Oaks (formerly Stanley Park) High School, Carshalton Boys Sports College and Greenshaw High School in the London Borough of Sutton and the ARK Bolingbroke Academy in Wandsworth.
I have been expert tutor for Pet-Xi (specialists in GCSE and A-level revision courses), providing tuition in Programming, ICT training and STEM subjects.
I have successfully tutored Mathematics, Computing, Geography, Physics, chemistry, Combined Science, Study Skills, etc. to a number of pupils from Year 6, through Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and also adults on.
My fees are listed by subject. I have found that, for GCSE, one or two hour sessions work well. At AS-level/A-level and beyond, that 2 or 3 hour sessions work very well. I give a £2.50/hour discount. Also, I give a discount if you come to my home in Bannerbrook Park. I only offer daytime weekday and Sunday lesson at my home (we have a new cockerpoo puppy, so I can't travel until my wife gets home from work).
