I have 20 years experience as a History and Politics teacher and head of department in secondary schools, helping students to gain excellent grades - over 50% A*/A at GCSE and over 50% A*/B at A level overall.
I am also an examiner with two examination boards for all the papers I have taught. This enables me to unlock the keys to the best grades, as I know the requirements applied to gain marks, including in the latest syllabus, and has assisted greatly with obtaining top grades.
I have also been a Tutor and Lecturer at Oxford University and been an Entrance Examiner for 3 Oxford University colleges. This connection with university also helps me to advise on all aspects of application to higher education and also to assist those already at university.
Please note that currently due to heavy demand my availability to tutoring is limited to Monday and Wednesday evenings and most times on a Sunday.

I tailor my approach entirely to the requirements and preferences of each individual candidate, as should be the case in all one to one tutoring.
Although a focus is usually required on examination grades through both content and question answering techniques, it is vital that each session should also be interesting, enjoyable, and fun, I believe my students within classes at school and my nearly twenty years of private one to one tuition have found them both helpful and instructive but also amusing and lively.
I do not charge extra for marking, preparation and any other additional work I undertake, and I am always willing to stay as long as wished for each individual session for no extra charge,
