I am a computer science student at the University of York, and I am interested in offering a tailored tutoring experience akin to what I received while in school. I enjoy getting lost in literature and mathematics, using both in work and personal life, and constantly learning new things. My hope is always to better both myself and the students by imparting and reinforcing my own knowledge while expanding theirs.

Tutoring Experience

I have had experience in tutoring in various areas across various age groups since I was in high school. I was (for two years) a teaching assistant in computer science classes for younger year groups than myself, I also spent those 2 years tutoring English both as a first and second language to younger children offering me a unique insight into teaching a language. I have also spent time at university during the summer on programs in which I take classes with a cohort of children in various studies. All these various experiences have offered me the chance to teach at multiple levels across a spectrum of subjects.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to tailor the tutoring experience to the pupil. I wish to set up an initial meeting to discuss requirements for the student and gauge how best I should offer my services. This can range from helping with revision, covering missed content or trying to find a way to simplify those tricky concepts. I'm here to make the best of the time together and improve the pupil in whatever way they feel they need to overcome the challenges ahead.
