I am a highly qualified very experienced Maths A Level teacher. Following a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, I now work from home with a very limited number of students, to whom I am extremely dedicated. My hourly rate includes me marking a full exam paper (or equivalent) before each of our lessons (in order to properly track your progress and make 100% sure we get the most out of our time together) and access to my student group-chat where I can be contacted 24-7 and my students can also help each other.
Students I teach quickly feel confident with the subject and the vast majority go on to achieve an A or A*.
1st Class Maths degree
20 years teaching A Level Maths & Further Maths in sixth form colleges (average ALIS value added +2.2 for A Level)
8 years as Head of Maths at a large sixth form college (consistently top 10% in the country)
10 years as Examiner, Team Leader & Assistant Principal Examiner for Pearson (writing A Level Maths & Further Maths mark schemes & ensuring consistent high quality marking)
Various consultancy roles & teacher training roles
I work with every student differently based on their content knowledge, their exam technique skills, their level of self belief and their study habits. With most students I use a combination of a deep analysis of their work (which I've marked), developing personalised revision strategies to support their work outside of my lessons, and my unique method of teaching which is based entirely on exam papers. Using this method I have taken students from zero to being able to get an A in just 4 weeks.
