Rosemary

I am a fully qualified and experienced teacher, having worked in both the state and private system and private language schools for many years. I am a sympathetic and caring teacher who always strives to do her best for her students and to build their own confidence in their abilities. I always tailor the lessons to meet the needs of the individual and use a variety of teaching approaches to do this.
When I'm not teaching I enjoy writing stories for children, swimming and going line dancing to keep fit!

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for over 30 years and have taught infant, primary, secondary, and adult learners, both in the UK and overseas. I have some experience of teaching dyslexics and have attended courses run by the British Dyslexia Association to gain more knowledge of this. I would normally charge an extra £5.00 per hour for primary level lessons if the child is dyslexic.
I have worked as a Director of Studies and senior teacher and have also mentored less experienced colleagues. I am also experienced in preparing foreign students for IELTS, FCE, CAE and CPE examinations, primary school children for SATS, and tutoring students for GCSE English Language and Literature and the Common Entrance Exam. Recent successes include improvement from 'C' to 'A' grade (GCSE) and from level 3 to levels 4 and 5 in SATS.

Tutoring Approach

I find teaching immensely rewarding, as I love meeting new people and finding out how I can help them to achieve their aims. I am equally at home providing fun lessons to create interest in the subject and preparing students for examinations. I find one to one tuition particularly rewarding as I really enjoy seeing the student make progress and hearing how much more they are enjoying the subject in school. I am a patient, approachable and enthusiastic tutor, with a genuine interest in helping students achieve their full potential. I am also available to teach on Skype.
