Outstanding, highly experienced tutor with 22 years of teaching experience at both GCSE & A level. I regularly boost students achievement by at least two grades or more. This is based on 22 years successful teaching experience in a variety of secondary schools. I have experience of both the Edexcel and AQA exam boards and have accumulated a vast amount of subject knowledge over this time. I have taken several students from grade E at A level to achieving A grades through my excellent teaching.

In addition to achieving excellent results for my students, I also help to build their confidence in tackling exam questions using the appropriate exam techniques and also their subject knowledge. This is underpinned by my calm and patient teaching style that gains the best from my students. This is gained from my insights into the exam boards and multiple exams at varying levels over the course of my 22 years in teaching.

I have recently worked with students from leading Independent schools to help boost their grades and secure their entry to their chosen universities. I primarily tutor Business Studies subjects but I have also taught Economics, Travel & Tourism and AAT Accounting and you are welcome to enquire regarding tutoring in these subjects.

I tailor my teaching style to the needs of each individual student, starting by assessing their individual needs in terms of subject knowledge and exam technique. I then formulate a plan to address these needs and secure rapid improvements. My teaching style is both calm and patient, and aimed at building a rapport with each student. I use structured questioning in my lessons to probe students understanding and develop their critical thinking skills.

Tutoring Experience

I have 22 years teaching GCSE, A-level, BTEC Business Studies and ICT. I have previously been a Head of Department in 3 schools. I have taught a wide range of abilities in schools across Sussex, Surrey and London. I have a BA degree in Business Studies and a PGCE in Business Education. I also have a postgraduate diploma in Education Leadership & Management.

I have extensive experience of tutoring on a one-one level and have achieved excellent feedback from students I have tutored. I have tutored students from both state schools and also leading independent schools, securing improved grades in all cases.

I have secured vastly improved outcomes for all of the students I have tutored including moving some students from U grades to A grades overall. I have typically moved most students at least two grades overall from their starting point. I have extensive experience of working with students at all ability levels across GCSE and A level.

I have also been an AAT Tutor for levels 2 & 3 (Diploma in Accounting) as well as holding a level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
