I am a grammar school English teacher with over two decades of experience in a selective environment. I am keen to create a nurturing a stimulating environment for my students where the learning is underpinned by an understanding of the individual and a concern for their wellbeing.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English at GCSE level, delivering the AQA specification for both Language and Literature. At A level, I have taught both AQA and Eduqas specifications.
I also teach Film and Media Studies and have experience in the pastoral care of students.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is measured and patient. I aim to make my students feel comfortable with making mistakes and learning from them. I currently teach in a setting where formative assessment is the key to driving teaching practice and I aim to use this with the students who I teach privately. This means that I will meet students where they are in their learning journey and tailor my teaching to specifically broach any gaps and encourage progression.
