I’m a tutor and academic with a first class Masters Degree from Birkbeck College, University of London and a first class BA in English and Drama from the University of East Anglia. At Birkbeck, my dissertation essay was awarded the highest mark in my year, and nominated by the university for the prestigious TaPRA Prize.
I am currently working towards my PhD Studies with UOL on Shakespeare and modernism, and have previously guest-lectured on English courses at Kingston University and CSSD.

Tutoring Experience

I have a decade of full-time tutoring experience, with a one-hundred-per-cent track record of success; every single one of my students has achieved their desired mark with my help. I bring a wealth of experience working with all levels of ability and students from a diversity of backgrounds, including Oxford and Cambridge candidates, but perhaps my proudest moment was helping one boy obtain the pass mark he needed in GCSE English Language to get into college after five failed attempts. I also have extensive experience working with SEN students, including those with autism, dyslexia and ADHD
In addition to this, I work regularly as an essay assessor at university level, providing marks and feedback to students.

Tutoring Approach

I really believe in a parent-student led approach, it’s really important to me that, whatever their age, my students finds our lessons engaging and want to learn, too many tutors offer the same by rote sessions which bores the child and makes getting those results much harder. I am very responsive to student needs, and can adapt my approach to suit the pupil. I pride myself on being a relaxed, friendly tutor with a calm and encouraging energy. It is absolutely vital to me that students feel more confident and empowered following our time together.
