I have been a primary classroom teacher since 2008. I have taught in both state and independent schools. I teach both Maths and English. I teach all abilities, those that need challenging and extending and those that need some support to reach their full potential. I feel very passionate about helping children achieve their best!
I have in depth experience of the National curriculum in Maths and English. I also have experience of the new EYFS curriculum. I have been trained in a range of different schemes related to the teaching of early phonics and reading.
In the past I have tutored children in preparation for their SATs or to support their learning of early reading and maths.
My ultimate goal is for the children I tutor to make progress, grow in confidence with the subject matter and have fun. I firmly believe learning should be fun!
I always aim to make sessions as practical, hands on and relevant as possible.
I am happy to support work being completed at school, homework or to plan sessions to address areas for development or challenge.
I believe learning should be approached constructively and positively. My aim is to embed a growth mindset in all the children I work with. It isn’t about what we don’t know, it’s about what we don’t know yet and how we are going to embark on the learning journey together.
