Qualified teacher of Religious Studies, and former SENCO I am passionate about building student's confidence to achieve their goals.
I have taught GCSE and A Level Religious Studies covering several different specifications and am proud to say I count several Oxbridge graduates of Philosophy and Theology among my former pupils.
I am a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO), have been a senior leader in two different schools, and have previously successfully supported parents with multi-agency planning, securing EHCP's and school based advocacy.
My core teaching approach builds on the principle that success breeds motivation. I work on securing success for students allowing them to develop the resilience and drive for them to stretch to their next challenge. I take a light, flexible approach, focusing on what works for the individual learner.
For students with SEND in particular I start with gaining as deep an understanding of their strengths and needs as possible - regardless of any prior diagnosis. From there I construct a bespoke plan which can include support for social skills and strategies, anxiety or core literacy and Maths skills.
I am also able to offer direct support to parents. This includes, but is not limited to, support with understanding the educational and legal framework for SEND, strategies to support your child with learning, or managing behavior that challenges.
