I am currently a second year medical student at the University of Liverpool, who has always been passionate about teaching. For extracurricular activities I do boxing and cricket, but also enjoy working at my local tuition institution centre during the holidays.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught Maths and English to children of varying abilities at my local Kumon institution. Additionally I have done online tutoring via external institutions before, mainly the science subjects aimed at GCSE students, who have all gone on to achieve top grades. Alongside this I help aspiring medical students with interview and UKCAT practice. Ultimately I believe my experience teaching individuals of different ages have given me the skills to become a successful tutor.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching methods are catered to the level I'm teaching at, although ultimately I aim to make my lessons as interactive as possible regardless of the student. For younger students like primary school and from ages 11-14, I will use more of a structured lesson plan going through the topics on the curriculum, ensuring I understood what topics they're going through at school at the moment as well as if they have any questions. For GCSE students I will appreciate that the student would know more clearly what they need to work on/ go through and adapt my approach according to that. In general, I use flashcards and worksheets to test the student's knowledge on the topic and use an online whiteboard, whilst going through different concepts.
