Second year studying Physics at Oxford University. Predicted First Class degree. I offer online A-level tutoring for Physics, Maths and Further Maths. I also tutor Physics for Oxbridge admissions.

I was previously at St Paul's School, where I was awarded:
-4 A* at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. (All subjects above 90%)
-11 9s at GCSEs
- I finished Top 100 in the UK in the British Physics Olympiad
- I achieved Gold in the Senior Math Challenge and Merit in the British Math Olympiad.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring A-level Maths, Further Maths and Physics for the past year and I had previously been tutoring GCSEs.

Having finished my A-levels only 1 year ago I am very familiar with the syllabus and so I can better relate to the struggles of my students. I know what to do get an A*; what revision methods work and/ don't work; what topics students tend to find the hardest and how to get around understanding them; and I know what areas to focus on in order to get the highest marks.
Furthermore, having only recently sat A-Levels, I fully understand that it is a very stressful period and so I always try my best to make the learning experience enjoyable and interesting — so that my students are both assured and confident.

From my previous teaching experience, I am able to quickly identify my student’s weaknesses and tackle their problems — helping them to improve and increase their scores as fast as possible.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is made up of two parts:
Firstly, I want the student to deeply understand topics and not to just memorise them.
Secondly, I go through as many different types of problems as possible so that the student knows how to tackle each possible type of question. So when exam time rolls around, they can be confident that they will know all the relevant 'tricks' within each topic.

For Maths, I focus on making sure that students understand why certain techniques are required in answering specific types of questions.
For Physics, I focus on making sure the student understands both the maths and the physical intuition behind everything they do. I also focus on exam technique and how to make sure to hit keywords on the markscheme.

I am confident in this approach because it has been proven by the successes of my previous students. I have helped many students boost their grade from 6 to 9 in GCSE Maths and Physics and have had very good feedback from my students who have just sat their A-Levels this year.
