Sebastian

I am currently a postgraduate student studying MSc Economics at the university of Bristol, and last year, I completed my BSc in Mathematics at the University of Southampton. I love both these subjects, and think that enjoying maths is all about understanding why we do things, and viewing questions as interesting problems to be solved, rather than just a way to get marks.

Tutoring Experience

At GCSE, I achieved 7A*s, 4A's and 1 B, with the A*s being in English Language, Science, Additional Science, Further Additional Science and Mathematics and Geography.
At A level, I took Maths, Physics and Religious Studies, achieving A*, B and B respectively, so I believe I am well placed to help students get through their exams.

I have experience helping family and friends who have a wide range of different ability levels, and I am excited at the prospect of being able to explain the parts of education that I love, with students of all ages, from teenagers right through the the adult learner. I am very happy to help students on a longer term basis, but please dont hesistate to get in contact if you feel I can help with working through an exam paper or two, in the run up to mocks and final exams!

Tutoring Approach

My approach will be focussed mainly around tackling exam and homework questions, working with the student to understand what we need to do, and why we need to do it. Where I identify an area where the student's knowledge is lacking, I will endeavour to teach the student the required material.
If the tutoring requirement is more general, I am more than happy to have a discussion and then prepare some lessons to help improve understanding in a more general manner.
