My key strength is to explain complex concepts of Physics and Maths in simple and clear terms. I have been a lecturer of Maths and Physics for first year engineering students during my PhD, and have been tutoring privately for over 15 years. Since graduation I have continued tutoring privately and have worked with several educational institutions such as INTO Manchester, PMT, Delta Tutors London, and Educate-UK; teaching Maths and Physics for GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A-Levels, and the Scottish equivalents NAT4, 5, Higher and Advanced Higher. I have taught both subjects for major UK exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR; and International Baccalaureate Organization (IB).
I enjoy teaching and deeply care about the two subjects. I believe all students can enjoy these subjects, given the right guidance.
Please note: For AQA A-Level Physics optional sections I teach the Engineering Physics, Astrophysics, and Turning Points.*
For major exam boards: I teach A-Level maths, mechanics, and statistics but not further maths*

I think majority of the students find Maths and Physics difficult because at some point at school, they have missed the most important and fundamental concepts. These subjects may seem hard because concepts are built on top of each other and if the student lacks an understanding of a fundamental concept, this will create a barrier to any further learning. I will invest time to assess student’s understanding of these fundamental concepts and revisit them if necessary.
For solving problems, I ask questions step by step rather than just "lecturing" the students. I find this method more engaging and more helpful to the students because they feel they are the one solving the problem. This will give them the confidence they need and they will remember the material for longer as they are engaged to find solutions. I also find this method extremely useful while working online. As it can compensate for the lack of physical presence in the same room with the students by keeping them constantly engaged in the conversation.
I design questions similar to past papers, this helps to make sure the work students do is original and they have put their own thought into the homework.
Before our first lesson, I'd like to have a chat over the phone with the student or parents/guardians to discuss the student's specific needs and to devise a plan accordingly. Hopefully we can keep in touch during the year to discuss the improvements and the feedback students get from their school. This ideally can happen once a month. Getting good grades requires a good amount of work and this can be achieved with everyone being engaged.
I ask my students to solve questions during the lesson. For this, I use an online whiteboard, so it would be better if you have a digital pen to be able to write there as well. iPad pen or any digital drawing board can do the job.
**Cancellation Policy: Please let me know 24+ hours in advance if you cannot attend a lesson, otherwise half of the hourly price will be charged.
This website will charge you an introduction fee, before showing you my contact details. Once the introduction fee is paid, you will need to contact me directly and let me have your contact details as well.
Thanks for visiting my profile and I look forward to hearing from you.
