I am a primary class teacher with over 11 years’ experience, both in state and independent sectors, Science lead and Head of Curriculum of a small independent school. I have been tutoring for a couple of years now and have extensive experience teaching online. I have successfully helped many of my pupils achieve their desired results and am passionate about devising and developing ways to encourage pupils to progress and giving them the best possible education in life.
I am passionate about children's education and my aim is always to empower, challenge and inspire pupils to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the world. This is reflected in my tutoring and teaching approach.

Tutoring Experience

I am the Science lead and Head of Curriculum currently and have over 11 years experience of teaching in primary schools - both public and private schools.
I am a highly experienced teacher and have tutored many children – towards their GCSE Science exams, as well as 11+ entrance exams. I am proud to say that several of the children I have tutored have gained places at several schools. I am confident in supporting and teaching the skills involved in the different aspects of these school's entrance exams, these being:
Mathematics
Reading Comprehension
Writing
Verbal Reasoning
Non-Verbal reasoning.

I have experience working with children with additional support needs and those on EHCP plans.

Tutoring Approach

I am a firm believer of establishing a good rapport and trust with the student, as these two are critical elements to a successful tutoring relationship. I adjust techniques and approaches to meet the learning styles of the student, whether this be kinaesthetic or visual, and I am always patient as I know not all students learn at the same rate. I listen to the students, which enables me to understand how the student is feeling and how they are learning.
My tutoring sessions start with assessing the student and the working from there as a baseline. The sessions will be tailored to your child's personal learning plan, which will be developed jointly with myself, you the parent and the children themselves.
