Hello, I’m Shangavi and I'm a UCL medical student.
I chose to enter the medical field as I genuinely enjoy helping others and seeing how incredibly impactful it can be. This passion is reflected in my love for helping students tackle difficult concepts and seeing how their confidence and curiosity grows over time. I find that seeing such progress is what encourages me to continue to help others achieve their goals- just as I am grateful my best teachers did for me!
Through my years of experience tutoring and mentoring, I developed a value for creating a comfortable space where I can get to know the student and they can also feel confident enough to ask any questions they may have. I believe that this a key part of their journey to fulfilling their goals.
My achievements of all A*s at A level and all 9s at GCSE, have given me the confidence to share my love for learning with others and inspire medical applicants to persevere through difficult but important years of your life. I understand the medical application process can be daunting but I will support you as you go through the process, as I have been in the exact same boat before.
I look forward to meeting you and working together so that you feel prepared for your exams as well as for any learning throughout your life!
I have over 3 years of experience tutoring subjects for students of various age groups and backgrounds, as well as experience in mentoring Medicine applicants
In our first meeting, I will focus on getting to know you and discussing what styles of learning you prefer. This way I can adapt my teaching methods and resources to ensure you learn in the way that is most effective for you!
Fundamentally, all my sessions value teaching in a way that is engaging, interactive and more importantly centred around you, as the student.
We will start off by discussing your strengths and weaknesses in the topic, followed by solidifying your understanding of the theory and finally consolidating your learning by putting it into practise, in the form of some questions.
