Hello, my name is Sharon. I have been teaching since 2001, and Removed tutor since 2016. I am qualified to teach maths (Functional Skills/GCSE), English and ESOL. I've had many students who have improved their grades, passed exams, and even learned to enjoy subjects that they weren't that keen on when they began. Tutoring Experience

I have experience teaching a range of age groups. I started teaching literacy and numeracy in adult community classes. I have worked as a supply teacher with young children (reception age), in primary and secondary schools, and college. I have also taught English to teenage students from abroad in summer schools, and done voluntary work with adults learning English in Spain and Poland.

Tutoring Approach

I have lots of patience and believe in building the confidence of my students so that they feel comfortable about asking for help or telling me when they don't understand. I have experience working with people who have dyslexia. My experience in adult community classes involved writing individual learning plans for all students, so I am happy to tailor my lessons and teaching methods to suit individual needs.
